When I rolled into the town of Yurimaguas earlier this week… I grabbed a few brothers and went straight to the open air market. After preaching my heart out we had many good one on one conversations with some of the people that heard the message. The apostle Paul and his companions were accused of “turning the world upside down” (Acts 17:6)…. MAY WE BE FOUND GUILTY OF THIS SAME CRIME!!
If we are gonna see any kind of positive change in our cities, in our society, in our country….. it’s gonna have to come through the preaching of the gospel. Jesus transforms lives! In the NT we see story after story where people were totally transformed when they encountered Jesus!…. And so, my aim is to preach Christ as if he were crucified yesterday, risen today and coming again tomorrow!
This week I’m teaching at a bible training course here in Yurimaguas. Many church leaders have come from the surrounding regions to study. Please pray for me as i, not only teach in the classroom, but also preach in the streets day after day.
Some of the students are from the indigenous “Shauwi” tribe among whom the Lord has done a real work during the course of this last year. As a result churches are being established and leaders are being formed. Please pray for their spiritual growth as they hunger for the pure milk of the word!
