Heidi is all better!
Many of you have been praying for “Heidi” who is five months pregnant and was bitten by a poisonous viper. God has been merciful and restored her and her baby to good health. Thank you for praying!

Convention
Just before Christmas we had our bi-annual convention with the river churches. It was a great time of prayer, praise, fellowship, and study of the scriptures as about 200 brothers and sisters from different villages came together for a few days. It was a joy to be able to give out a lot of clothes and medicine and Bibles to the needy believers.  Each day I preached for 4 hours on the family, while fellow preacher (Jairo Sangama) took another 4 hours to preach on stewardship. In the evenings we had some great open air meetings where there were several professions of faith. Please pray for the new believers in “Nuevo San Juan”.

Christmas
We have enjoyed a great holiday season here in Tarapoto with Amy's parents and her uncle Steve. We are so thankful that they were able to come at this special time of the year. The kids have had a really great time being with them and showing them around our jungle town.

Tarapoto assembly
Our church family here in Tarapoto is encouraged and is growing. We are seeing several new visitors lately. Last Sunday night we had a record attendance of 85 people that crowded into our small building. Please pray that God would continue to work in the lives of many and that there would be genuine spiritual growth.

Micah's health
For the last month or so I have been struggling with parasites and malaria-like symptoms. I spent several hours the other day in the hospital where they took a lot of tests and decided to give me some very aggressive medicine which has a lot of side effects to it. So far the medicine is really working well and I'm feeling a lot better. Please continue to pray for my health.

Missionary quote of the day
When James Calvert went out as a missionary to the cannibals of the Fiji Islands, the ship captain tried to turn him back, saying, "You will lose your life and the lives of those with you if you go among such savages." To that, Calvert replied, "We died before we came here."
