A few busy weeks

Dear friends and family,

The last few weeks have been pretty busy for us here in Trujillo with “Capacitacion Biblica”, Child Evangelism Fellowship and the Bible institute all in full swing. In the midst of all the action we have had a very welcome visit from fellow missionary and friend, Chris Mattix from Bolivia. Our kids have especially had a great time hanging out with him and he has been a blessing to everyone here.

In the classroom Chris taught the book of Acts and a course on “discipleship” while I had a really great time teaching Genesis 1-11. It was an excellent couple of weeks full of study as these key Peruvian leaders took about 7 hours of class each day. Added to the studies, the students had to do some practical work also as I took them to minister in the outlying villages, work in the orphanage, preach in the drug rehab center and do some street evangelism. Please pray for us as Chris and I gear up to go do pretty much the same thing with a module of classes in the jungle town of Yurimaguas next week.

Missionary quote of the week: “Lord, please let the fire in my heart melt the lead in my boots” -unknown
